AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has called on his side to respond against Coventry City - after the Cherries slipped to their second straight defeat against Sheffield United on Saturday.

Jamie Murphy's goal gave The Blades three points at The Goldsands Stadium on Saturday, and the Dorset side will have to bounce back quickly to climb back to the top of League One.

"We now need to win some games, it's as simple as that" said Howe.

"This is a difficult spell of games, but we have to go again. We need to bounce back and we need the crowd to make a difference."

The Cherries will fancy three points against Coventry, but The Sky Blues have been in resurgent form of late - particularly away from home.

Coventry are eight points behind Bournemouth, in eighth place in the league table.

A win for the Cherries could send them back to the summit of League One as two points currently separates the top six.

"It's a chance to put things right under the lights here, and that is always special" added Howe.

"We have to look at the big picture. We are two points off the top at a crucial stage of the season with 12 games to go. What have we got to worry about? Let's go and be positive and show everyone what a good side we are.

"It will be difficult because Coventry are a good side. They have excellent away form and maybe that is because there is less pressure playing away from home.

"The expectation levels at a club like Coventry can be an issue and they have less pressure away. They have good attributes to play on the road and are dangerous."

Coventry have not visited The Goldsands Stadium since 1988 - winning 4-0, and beat Bournemouth earlier this season 1-0 at the Ricoh Arena.
