AFC Bournemouth are hoping last weekend’s impressive win at Reading can give them a lift ahead of Saturday’s SkyBet Championship clash with Birmingham City.
The Cherries are two points above the Blues – in sixteenth place in the league table. However, the Cherries have not won at home since their 5-2 win over Millwall in October.
“I think the win at Reading lifted a weight off everyone’s shoulder” explained Bournemouth midfielder Eunan O’Kane.
“The longer we went without a win, the more the pressure built – so it was a relief to get that result and hopefully we can put a run of wins together now.
“It would be great if we could do that because you never know what three or four wins could do for you in this league.”
After Saturday’s game with Birmingham, the Cherries face struggling Sheffield Wednesday and Yeovil Town – before completing the busy Christmas period with tough games against Ipswich Town and Brighton and Hove Albion.
“We’ve proved that we can beat some of the biggest teams in the league” added O’Kane.
“But it’s about consistency and we need to perform to those levels every week.”
