A BOAT has appeared outside the Allendale Centre.
However, it hasn’t run aground and is waiting to be re-launched on the adjacent river, but is a new play facility for children.
Wimborne Round Table donated the money to pay for it from the proceeds raised during their beer festival last October. Last year’s Round Table chairman Matthew Suter chose the Allendale Centre, and its charity the Wimborne and District Community Association, as his chairman’s charity.
Andy Bryant centre manager said:“We are very grateful to Matt Suter and all the members of the Wimborne Round Table for this fantastic donation to the WDCA. This play boat is a real demonstration of the amazing work the Round Table do for local charities each year. The Table members take over the Centre for an entire weekend in October and run a very well organised and extremely popular beer festival with some great live acts. Last year they raised well over £7,000 which has been donated to local charities and good causes. We were lucky to receive enough funds to pay for the play boat which is made from recycled plastic bags.”
This years charity beer festival is 11th and 12th October.
