Police have released CCTV footage of a crucial witness after a man was arrested on suspicion of a serious sexual assault in Bournemouth.
It is believed a 26-year-old female victim was attacked in the early hours of Sunday 11th May in the town centre after spending the night at the Lola Lo nightclub on Richmond Hill until approximately 2:30am.
After leaving the club, the victim found herself in a residential area of the town, having been subjected to a serious sexual assault.
Detective Sergeant Andy Roberts of Bournemouth CID said: “The victim found herself in a very distressing situation and sustained cuts and bruises.
“I am now in a position to release CCTV footage of a man I would like to speak to who kindly helped the victim in the area outside of Lola Lo at about 3:10am. He might have vital information about the incident that can assist with the investigation.”
The witness is described as white, of stocky build and has dark hair. He was wearing a suit-style jacket, a short without a collar and possible jeans and dark shoes.
He was holding something in his hand which may have been takeaway food.
“I am appealing for anyone who may be able to give me information about the victim’s movements between 2:30am nad 5:30am” added DS Roberts.
“I would particularly like to speak with anyone who may have seen the victim in the area around Richmond Hill, Wimborne Road and Meyrick Park.,”
The victim has shoulder length dark hair and was wearing a pink, waste-length blazer with a black collar, a black dress and black high heeled shoes.
A 19-year-old man from Bournemouth has been arrested on suspicion of sexual offences and has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
