Table tennis champions from yesteryear will be taking on enthusiasts at Oborne fete.
Top names including Chester Barnes and Oborne’s own national and international star Karenza Mathews will be testing the skills of fetegoers at the event on 6th September.
Karenza, who with her husband Ken owns the Grange Hotel in Oborne, represented England more than 400 times and was twice women’s English champion in the 1970s.
She also won national and international doubles titles with partners including Chester Barnes - one of the best known names in the sport.
Former champions Mary Wright and Di Pearce will also be wielding a bat in the village hall on fete day.
Organisers say the event promises to be bigger and better this year with events staged at the recreation ground and the church as well as the village hall from 2pm.
