COLEHILL Age Concern Day Centre invited guests including local clergy, the chairman of EDDC and the Mayor of Wimborne to their annual Christmas lunch.

The Mayor, Councillor Andy Hampton commented: "I enjoyed chatting with the members of the day centre and getting some top tips for longevity. The volunteers encourage a happy and lively atmosphere and I look forward to popping in from time to time to keep in touch. The biggest challenge faced by the centre is finding volunteers to drive people to and from the centre in Colehill, particularly those in the outlying villages. If anyone can help out with driving, even once a month, I know it would be much appreciated."

The club meets every Friday at Colehill Sports and Social Club. It offers lunch and activities to older people from Colehill, Wimborne and surrounding areas who are frail or socially isolated. For more information, contact Jenny Raymond on 01258 840421.
