Yeovil Town expect to patch up their walking wounded in time to travel to Crewe Alexandra and avoid any potential selection headaches.

Jamie McAllister, Keanu Marsh-Brown, Ed Upson, James Hayter, Byron Webster and Korey Smith all either entered Tuesday’s game at Shrewsbury Town with knocks or hobbled off with problems.

However, assistant-manager Terry Skiverton said he and boss Gary Johnson expected to choose from the same squad when they visit Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.

“There are a couple we are waiting on again but they have come through before and we are expecting to pick the same squad again,” he said.

“I think some of our players have taken a few nasty knocks and there have been a few tackles lunged in at our boys.

“The (Bury) sending off was a naught challenge and there were a few in the Shrewsbury game where they were lucky to get up. I think most will be alright, most have got through training.”

The Glovers could face a fight to extend hotshot Paddy Madden’s loan spell after Carlisle United boss Greg Abbott hinted the five-goal hitman would be given a chance at his parent club.

He said: “Paddy is going to come back with goals and confidence under his belt. He is going to be looking to force his way into the team.

“It has been a bit stop-start for him here with his injuries and stuff, but it’s fantastic news that he is scoring goals, and that is another boost we can look forward to – an unexpected one.”

Skiverton was unable to comment on potential attempts to keep Madden in Somerset but re-iterated the club’s desire to retain his services.

“That’s got nothing to do with me, that’s to do with the gaffer,” Skiverton said. “He had the foresight to bring him, he has done a fantastic job for us so far, he has linked well with James Hayter and our delivery has been excellent for Paddy Madden.

“He fits in well but there is no news from me. It will be on-going with the clubs and a priority that the gaffer will be looking at to extend.”

Yeovil Town from: Stech, Stewart, Ayling, McAllister, Hinds, Webster, Marsh-Brown, Burn, Edwards, Brundle, Blizzard, Upson, Williams, Foley, Smith, Johnson, Hayter, Reid, Madden, Agbo.
