Cherries caretaker manager Dennis Rofe is remaining focused on today's trip to Coventry City - despite speculation around the vacant role at The Goldsands Stadium.

Rofe takes charges as AFC Bournemouth face The Sky Blues for the first time since 1988 after Paul Groves was sacked as manager on Wednesday.

"At this moment in time, I am taking each day as it comes" said Rofe, speaking to the club's official website.

"As soon as we were asked to take training, our minds have been on the Coventry game, it has to be that way.

"We have watched clips of Coventry games to familiarise ourselves with them to prepare for the game if we are in charge."

This is the Cherries' first ever trip to the Ricoh Arena. The last meeting took place at Highfield Road, with Coventry brushing aside Bournemouth in the League Cup.

Coventry have struggled to adapt to life in League One after relegation from the Championship last season. New manager Mark Robbins guided his side to their first win of the season last week at Oldham.

Frank Demouge will not feature for the Cherries after suffering a concussion against Crawley on Tuesday. Marc Pugh has returned to training but is unlikely to feature.
