The first Deverills festival took place over the gloriously sunny bank holiday weekend (2nd-5th May) in the Deverill Valley. Over 23 events in seven venues – both indoor and outdoor – showcased all types of music, drama, comedy, talks and guided walks. Audiences, both local and from further afield, thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional performances and festive atmosphere.

A year of hard work by a great team of local people paid off as visitors delighted in the quality and range of performances in this unique rural setting. All the villages pulled together in a great show of community spirit to put the weekend on the festival map.

Richard Munro, Festival Director, said: ‘What can I say? We set out to celebrate the performing arts and to offer professional quality music and drama to as many people as possible in a delightful environment and, importantly, at affordable prices. And we did! We are thrilled that the many festival goers were captivated by the variety of events and exceptional performances in unique rural venues, in such a beautiful setting. Will we do it again? Definitely!’
