Not only are cars getting spattered with bitumen from the road but so is my friend's patterdale terrier, Smidge, who is built close to the ground. White spirit is probably not a good idea and she is getting addicted to olive oil, although that does work, apparently.
One problem with finding a long term solution to the road surface between Hazelbury Bryan and Stur, apart from money, is that whatever is done requires the right weather to do it in, i.e. preferably dry and warm, as I understand it. Hence there will be no immediate solution regrettably. The Highways people are committed to keeping the carriageway safe and repaired in the meantime. The various complaints, comments and suggestions made by your readers have been brought to the notice of the Highways Department by me and I will continue to press the case of those who use this piece of road (including those on four legs).
