The turnout for the Police and Crime Commissioner election in Dorset could fall below ten per cent.

Votes are being counted following yesterday's election, with officials predicting the turnout for Dorset will be one of the lowest in the country.

Katie Ghose, Chief Executive of the Electoral Reform Society said: "This election has been a comedy of errors from start to finish.

"Polling station are standing empty because voters knew next to nothing about the role, let alone the candidates they were expected to pick from."
