AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe is confident his side's luck will change after the Cherries lost their third straight game against Coventry City.

Goals from Leon Clarke and Carl Baker saw the Cherries drop out of the League One playoff places - and are now four points behind league leaders Doncaster Rovers.

"We are disappointed to lose three on the spin" said Howe.

"We are going through one of those spells at the moment where we are finding winning difficult.

"That's football, it's swings and roundabouts, peaks and troughs and our fortune will change. We have to live with it, be strong and face it full on."

The Cherries failed to turn possession into clear-cut chances and Clarke opened the scoring in first half injury time with a fine finish.

Matt Tubbs endured a frustrating night at The Goldsands Stadium, and failed to find the target.

Baker secured three points for the Sky Blues, scoring from the penalty spot after Lewis Grabban's handball.

"We have the character to bounce back that's for sure" added Howe.

"It is so important now that everyone keeps their belief. Not just myself and the players, but everyone around the club.

"We have more tough games coming up and we have a lot of positives to take into them from the performance and that is pleasing.

"The simple thing now is that we have to bounce back."
