Elks have been stolen from a farm near West Coker.
The six adult animals were stolen between Thursday 4th and Friday 5th October.
Thieves cut through a boundary fence and also took two heavy-duty batteries.
PC Jackie Poole said dogs may have been used to herd the animals.
"I am particularly interested in speaking to anyone who has been approached about elks or elk meat or anyone who saw a vehicle in the area," she said.
Contact PC Jackie Poole on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
