Eyes Front!...with Isla St Clair
A delightful combination of music, film and nostalgia...
Following their great success at the ABF The Soldiers Charity Concert in Sherborne Abbey last year, Isla St Clair and Patrick King return to Sherborne on Thursday 13th March 2014 to give a performance of their own show "Eyes Front", a rich blend of story and song, in the Quarr Hall at the Gryphon School. Doors open at 7pm and the performance starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £12.50 each and are available from the Sherborne TIC tel 01935 815341 or you can call 01392 492650 and pay by debit/credit card. Proceeds are in aid of the ABF The Soldiers Charity.
Combining live performance with unique film footage, singer and television personality Isla St Clair presents this delightfully nostalgic, poignant and humorous look at the effects of music in wartime. As well as performing a selection of popular songs Isla tells the stories behind them.
Joining Isla is film maker Patrick King who gives a fascinating and humorous “behind-the-scenes” look at the use of film in war. Using film clips they illustrate how songs and music played an important part in people’s daily lives: for boosting morale, for propaganda or for just reminding people of better times during some of the darkest days in our history. To commemorate the centenary of the First World War there is special section on the conflict.
With over 180 performances ‘EYES FRONT’ is a rich
blend of story and song as well as poignancy and humour
all of which results in a heart warming show that is both informative and wonderfully entertaining.
