This beautiful ormolu and champlevé enamel clock is one of several decorative French clocks from the late 19th century to be included in Semley Auctioneers’ forthcoming sale. This fine example is expected to fetch around £2,500 when it goes under the hammer on Saturday 17th May.
It measures nearly 37 centimetres in height and is in good condition.
Viewing for this sale and also the specialist sales of Oriental and Islamic ceramics and works of art, and Persian and European carpets, rugs and textiles will be on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th May, with late viewing until 9pm on the Friday.
There will be free verbal valuations during these viewing times. Entries are still being accepted for the June sales of jewellery and silver, and 20th Century decorative arts including pictures.
