The Thomas Hardye School has seen results in maths and English rising yet again: 78% of students achieved grade C or above in maths and 80% in English; 89% achieved a pass in English Literature. The number of students achieving 5 passes at grade C or above including English and maths was 68%, in line with last year’s result. 10 students achieved all their passes at grade A/A* and Ada Barume managed 11 A*’s.
Mike Foley, Headteacher, said: “We have had an outstanding summer despite all the changes to courses, exam regulations and performance measures. Although there have been warnings about volatility in results we have maintained last year’s high standards and I am particularly pleased with the outstanding outcomes in English and maths. We have continued to offer a rigorous set of GCSE courses, including a modern foreign language for all, but students have responded magnificently and deserve credit for their resilience. Congratulations to the staff at Thomas Hardye and staff in our feeder schools, who have done so much to contribute to this success.”
