DOG RESCUE charity Greyhound Rescue West of England (GRWE) has issued a plea to local families, asking them to consider spending their November 5th at an organised firework display.

“Dogs of all shapes and sizes can be completely traumatised by fireworks” said Rehoming Officer for Dorset, Laura Andrews.

“We know how much people love fireworks, especially children.

“But by going to a display rather than having fireworks in your garden, neighbours’ dogs are saved the terror of even more explosions in close proximity” explained Laura.

If your dog suffers anxiety linked to fireworks, GRWE has issued tips to help deal with trauma on its website www.grwe.com
