GIY Dorset meets again on 2nd April, and this time they will be talking about how to grow salad leaves all year round. It is simple to grow lettuce in the spring, but did you know that, with a bit of organization and the right varieties, it is possible to be eating salad leaves fresh from your garden year round? Come along to GIY and find out how.

This talk is inspired by Charles Dowding’s book on the subject, and GIY Dorset is delighted that Charles himself will be coming to talk to us about his no-dig gardening methods and his latest books. That will be on 7th May.

GIY Dorset meetings are at the Woodhouse Gardens Pavilion in Blandford (next to the Post Office in the walled garden) at 7.30pm, on the first Wednesday of the month. As well as the monthly topic of discussion, members swap spare seeds and plants, and share growing tips and recipes. Regular meetings are free, but there will be a charge of £3 for Charles Dowding’s talk. Anyone interested in growing their own food is welcome
