Holly Heaton, an A-Level student at the Gryphon School has had her poster design chosen for ‘The Merry Wives of Windsor’ which will be performed by the Amateur Players of Sherborne as their part in Royal Shakespeare Company’s Open Stages project in the Digby Hall, Sherborne at 7.30pm from Thursday 10th to Saturday 12th April.
Holly’s design will feature on all printed material from posters to programmes for the play, and reflects one of the key aims of APS’s successful RSC Open Stages bid to be a community-based project.
“I am amazed and delighted that my design has been chosen,” says Holly, who was amongst the top Gryphon students who sailed past the national average for achievement in last year’s GCSE results. “It was clear after reading the play that it all revolved around Falstaff and the women in his life and helped enormously in coming up with a design.” Holly is studying A levels in Maths, Physics, German and Art. She says she is considering design or engineering as a career. As well as a £25 cheque for her work, she will also receive two tickets for the play.
Other pupils from the school will take part as actors, musicians, and in stage management roles and craft work in creating props.
