A PLAY telling the story of Judas Iscariot is to be performed in April at St John’s Church, Enmore Green.
Mortal Flesh, written and directed by Myra Wood, presents a thoughtful view of the most despised figure in the Christian world and his act of betrayal.
The play, which runs from 24th to 26th April, follows the fortunes of Judas from the time when he flees his home in Judea to being chosen as one of the twelve apostles.
It covers Christ’s ministry, the triumphant entrance into Jerusalem which triggered the beginnings of Judas’s uncertainty as to Christ’s Messianic status, and the petty arguments and disagreements that set him apart from the other disciples.
Tickets, at £8 for a reserved seat in the nave and £6 unreserved in the west gallery (accessed by a spiral staircase), are obtainable by sending a cheque made payable to St John’s Church, Enmore Green to Jo Churchill, 6 Long Cross, Enmore Green, Shaftesbury SP7 8QP.
