Councillor David Walsh in his letter (BVM 22nd August) headed “Effective Consultation on homes” states “Gillingham will see more than 1,800 homes built to the south of the town”.
The following letter headed “Housing meeting was a shambles” quotes the Barratt Homes representative as saying that, “It is a Government requirement for North Dorset to build 1,140 new homes”.
If Barratts as professionals know what they are talking about and Gillingham will see 1,800 new homes built then North Dorsetshire will exceed Government targets by 660 new homes so there will be no need to build new homes anywhere else?
Or have I missed something?
