A stone statue was stolen from Milborne Port

POLICE are appealing for the theft of a statue in Milborne Port.

The beige stone statue of a “laughing buddy”, which is approximately 2ft tall, was stolen from outside a property in Streamside Walk between 10pm on Monday, January 7, and 11am the next morning.

PCSO Mandy Forsey said the crime had caused the victim “unnecessary upset and distress as the statue was a recent present from her father.”

She said: “This is a mindless, cowardly act of theft that has caused the victim needless upset and concern that persons are wandering around looking for items to steal.

“The victim cannot understand why anyone would do this.

“If you have any information in regard to this crimes or others, we ask you to get in contact with us.

“This behaviour will not be tolerated and we are hoping for the assistance of the local community.

“We are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything suspicious at this time.”

Anyone with information should dial 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
