The Dorset Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) has announced the appointment of Lorna Gibbons as director.
Lorna will lead the development and delivery of the objectives of the Dorset LEP board in promoting growth, innovation and enterprise. She will represent and promote the Dorset LEP at a senior level and will be responsible for communications with local authorities, businesses, government bodies and other relevant stakeholders.
Miss Gibbons said: “This is a fantastic time to be living and working in Dorset. There is a lot of positive news about growth in our economy which is why I am so pleased to be taking the role of Director of the Dorset LEP now. I look forward to working with many local organisations who are the LEP’s partners to rise to the challenge to ensure that we can all benefit in Dorset from future growth.”
Miss Gibbons has very considerable experience in economic research, planning and development. She has been Senior Economic Development Officer in the Borough of Poole and Manager of the National LEP network where she worked at a senior level with the public and private sectors. She is also a trustee of the Centre for Local Economic Strategies. She will have an office in Bournemouth University from the start of 2014.
