WIMBORNE Town left it late before grabbing all three points in a 2-1 victory over 10-man North Leigh at Cuthbury on Saturday.

A goal down late in the first-half the Magpies won a penalty after Kevin Gill was brought down in the box by James Organ. Organ was red-carded and Mickey Hubbard scored from the spot.

Despite enjoying the lion's share of possession in the second period the winner didn't come until deep into injury time when Steve Smith nudged home Wimborne's second.

Three days earlier the Magpies had progressed to the Dorset Senior Cup quarter-finals with a 2-0 victory at Verwood Town.

This Saturday Wimborne are in Southern League action when they travel to Tiverton Town, then on Wednesday 21st November Cuthbury is expected to be packed for the visit of local rivals Poole Town for a Red Insure Cup second round clash, kick-off 7.45pm.
