A MAN was airlifted to hospital after a crash between Bruton and North Brewham this morning.

Emergency crews were called to the collision on Breham Road, close to Darkey Lane at around 8.30am.

Two fire appliances from Frome and Castle Cary, and a rescue tender from Yeovil attended.

A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: "One vehicle was on its side with one male seriously injured trapped inside.

"Crews stabilised the vehicle and removed the roof to gain better access to the casualty so ambulance personnel could assess the male.

"The casualty was extricated and air lifted to hospital."
