RESIDENTIAL home Castle Hill House in Shaftesbury has received a welcome addition to its garden.

A plum tree has been planted by the home’s gardener Nigel Hartwell, who also looks after the garden at sister home The Cedars.

The tree will have a special role to play in the life of the home for, as well as bearing fruit and attractive foliage, its branches will be adorned with silver discs.

Each one will be engraved with the name of a resident who has died.

The Memory Tree will form the focus of an area where people can stand and think lovingly of those who are no longer with us.
