IT is with great sadness that the North Dorset District Branch of the MS Society is saying goodbye to Krissie and Mike Carpenter as their publicity officers.
“Krissie and Mike have worked tirelessly for many years now, and our thanks go to them both for all the time they have given to us in helping to promote awareness of MS and the branch. We wish them both all the very best for the future and hope that they stay in touch,” said Sue Chilcott of the Society.
“We have a lot of things in the pipeline for this year, giving lots of opportunities for members, carers and friends to meet up and chat. At the moment we are trialling by-monthly meetings and anyone is very welcome to come along.”
The Society also hold monthly coffee mornings and lunches which are very popular. Held on the last Wednesday of every month, there is always a raffle, bric-a-brac sale as well as a great opportunity to meet people.
“We always welcome new committee members and are looking for a new publicity officer now Krissie and Mike have gone, so if anyone is interested in this voluntary position, which requires two hours a week as well as attending committee meetings then we’d be delighted to hear from them.”
To find out more about volunteering as a publicity officer or as a committee member, please contact Sue Chilcott on 01747 873062 or email email@example.com
The next meeting is on 12th March, 10.30am at Gillingham’s Methodist Church meeting room, with a Spring Lunch for members and friends at the Olive Bowl.
