North Dorset coach praises Josh Marshall for debut hat-trick in Southern Counties South

NORTH Dorset head coach Steve Ashfield commended Josh Marshal after the youngster marked his first team debut with a hat trick.

Marshall went over three times as the Gillingham side eased past Ivel Barbarians to start 2014 with a victory in Southern Counties South.

Ashfield is confident Marshall can continue his bright start playing at a higher level – and is likely to feature against Frome on Saturday.

“Josh came through with flying colours and he’ll certainly be involved in our next match against Frome” explained Ashfield.

“In the past, we have brought some youngsters into the first team too soon, so it can be a risk – but he’s done really well. The Ivel game was the ideal chance to give a few people a go, and it worked out well.”

North Dorset are confident they can win their next few games – lifting them up the league table.

The Slaughtergate outfit are currently in sixth place in the Southern Counties South table – two points behind Swanage and Wareham who face Sherborne this weeknd.
