Julia’s House is appealing for people to open their gardens to raise funds for the Dorset Children’s Hospice.
Whether it’s a tiny terrace or acres of space, a single garden or a whole village worth, Julia’s House wants to hear from anyone who would be happy to share their plot with the public.
Community fundraiser Jennie Gardner said: “Gardens can be any size or style, from cottage garden to urban retreat. Unusual designs, quirky features or interesting planting are always very popular.
“As well as charging a small entrance fee, many gardeners also serve refreshments or sell raffle tickets or plants. We are running our Julia’s House Time For Tea campaign throughout the summer, so some people might consider hosting a tea party in their garden too.
“Last year Pimperne residents held an open garden event involving the whole village. There were printed guides, teas and crafts. It was hugely successful and a wonderful illustration of what can be achieved when a whole community gets behind a project.”
