A QUARTET of staff members from the music department of Canford School are to perform an organ recital in the school’s concert hall on Friday, 7th February, showcasing their talents together, individually, and in duet.

The evening will feature music from Bach to Messiaen, by way of Elgar and Guilmant. There will be a duet organ sonata by Gustav Merkel and the famous Bach Toccata in D minor arranged for four organists.

Christopher Sparkhall, director of music at Canford, is a former Oxford organ scholar, as are David Warwick and James Aiken, while Katie Salmon is a former Cambridge organ scholar. The concert promises to be an unforgettable mix of the serious, the unusual and the entertaining.

Tickets are available from Sarah Shore in the Canford music department by email, sls@canford.com or on 01202 847486.
