A passenger was taken to hospital with a suspected fractured leg after a car collided with a lamppost in Bournemouth.

Emergency services were called to the incident outside the Talbot Rise Club along Columbia Road at just after 5am this morning.

A MG ZR had collided with a lamppost, causing substantial damage to the roadside.

The lamppost was overhanging the road, with local authorities securing it.

The driver of the car escaped without injury, but one passenger was taken to hospital with a suspected lower leg fracture.
