Police have released this CCTV image of a man after a Christchurch nightclub doorman had part of his ear bitten off during an assault.
The victim required surgery following the attack outside Club Epic in Bargates at 3.45am on Sunday, November 25.
Door staff asked a group of men to leave the club following a request from the manager. While being shown to the exit a disturbance broke out and spilled onto the street.
Detective Constable Scott Brimicombe, of Bournemouth and Poole CID, said: "This was a particularly nasty attack on a man which has left him with a serious injury.
"I now have available a CCTV image of a man who I believe can help us with our investigation.
"I urge him to come forward and speak to us as I am keen to establish exactly what happened.
"We believe the man responsible left the scene in a taxi.
"During the incident the offender was sprayed with red criminal identifier paint by the victim, which would have proved very difficult to remove from skin and clothing for a number of days."
Anyone with information or who recognises the man should contact Dorset Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
