The dynamic, enthusiastic, Radio 2 Folk Award-winning, young musician, Blair Dunlop delighted the audience who managed to get to Wessex Acoustic in Blandford, despite the recent gales and floods. Blair, one of the leading lights of the Albion band, proved his talents with two stunning sets of varied folk songs and music. Blair has a strong grounding in traditional folk songs, but added his own style with contemporary guitar techniques. He came over as a very likeable young man who will keep the folk traditions alive and up to date.

Supporting Blair was the highly popular Bournemouth-based duo, Ninebarrow. Jon and Jay made beautiful harmonies with their traditional style songs, many self-penned.

This is just one example of the top quality concerts provided by Wessex Acoustic on certain Fridays at The Royal British Legion in Blandford. Please check the club's website for more information about upcoming events, or keep your eyes open for flyers and posters around Blandford. The next evening is Gavin Davenport tonight Friday 7th March. Visit www.wessex-acoustic.co.uk
