Royal British Legion Shaftesbury - date change for Commodore's talk

THE date of the talk by Richard Bridges at the Royal British Legion Club in Shaftesbury has been changed to 27th March.

Commodore Bridges, who is Shaftesbury & District Branch and Dorset County President of the legion, will speak about a voyage in Antarctica with HMS Endurance.

The voyage, which he commanded, took place between 1972 and 1974.

Educated at the Royal Naval College in Dartmouth, Commodore Bridges served in the Royal Navy from 1960 to 1995.

The talk at the club in Coppice Street begins at 11.30am and is followed by a ploughman’s lunch.
