Keen runners in Weymouth are being urged to sign up for this year's Chase the Pudding race.

Registration is now open, with money being raised for the British heart Foundation for the second year in a row.

The event will see Santas and other festive characters chase a Christmas Pudding on Sunday December 16 at 11am

Participants are urged to dress up in festive costume for the 5km dash along Weymouth beach.

Neil Jarrett, Fundraising Manager for the British Heart Foundation said: "We are really looking forward to being involved in this year's great Chase the Pudding and creating a great spectacle on Weymouth Beach.

"It's going to be a lot of fun, and the funds raised will help us continue the life-changing work that we carry out in the local area and across the UK."

The event has been run for many years by Bustinskin. This year's theme will be 'sporting fun' - celebrating Weymouth hosting this summer's Olympic Games.

Mark Steen, Director of Bustinskin said: "I am really pleased to be partnered with BHF again this year.

"I am sure the Santas will turn out in great numbers following the fantastic pudding chase last year."

Entry is £10 for adults or £15 including a Santa costume. Those interested can register in advance or on the day at the Weymouth Pavilion Ocean Room from 9am.
