THE ENVIRONMENT Agency was issued its most severe flood warning along a part of the Dorset coastline.
The warning has been put in place around the Sea Life Centre and the Preston Beach area.
A severe flood warning highlights the possibility of severe flooding and danger to life.
An Environment Agency spokesperson said: “Flooding may already be affecting low lying areas and roads. We anticipate that Preston Road will be closed around the high water period between Overcombe and the Sea Life Centre.
“There may be significant spray and shingle over-topping affecting Preston Road. The public are also advised to avoid the Preston Beach area on foot as conditions are extremely dangerous and will remain so overnight.”
Flood warnings are also in place on dozens of Dorset rivers along with the entire coastline.
