Salisbury Sea Cadets now look resplendent in new competition tops thanks to Wessex Fire & Security who has provided tracksuits for the group who, despite being based inland, are able to get out on the River Avon to practise their skills.

The 30 high quality track suits have the Wessex Fire & Security logo on one side and the sea cadets’ logo on the other.

On the reverse they have ‘TS Salisbury’, the TS standing for Training Ship.

They have a magnificent modern building on the banks of the river, which is alarmed and monitored by Wessex Fire & Security.

Wessex is based in Shaftesbury, Dorset, and its name will now be carried around by the cadets who compete all over the country.

There are about 70 Salisbury Sea Cadets and Royal Marines Cadets aged between 10 and 18 and they meet twice weekly, attend competitions and go on camp.

Chris Stott, managing director of Wessex Fire & Security, said: “As we supply the fire and intruder alarms to the building we thought it fitting to supply the cadets with some tops.

“They have a great reputation and are always winning trophies, which we’re happy to be associated with.

“We supplied 30 tops because we are celebrating our 30th anniversary this year.”

Denis Twomey, chairman of the cadets’ Parents Association and Fundraiser, said: “They are very smart tops and our cadets look great in them.

“We’re very grateful to Wessex Fire & Security and the cadets will be wearing them for competitions which they compete in regularly.”

Wessex Fire & Security is part of the Wessex Group, which last year celebrated its 50th anniversary.
