Flooding is continuing to cause problems on Dorset's roads this morning.

Mill Lane in Shapwick is closed in both directions near the White Mill Bridge junction, due to flooding.

At 11pm last night, the Environment Agency issued a flood warning on the Lower Stour - between Sturminster Marshall and Christchurch.

More rain is predicted later on today and into Friday - with river levels still rising.

An Environment Agency statement said: "River levels on the lower Stour are high and are still rising.

"There is no significant rainfall forecast tonight, but by Friday afternoon another band of heavy rainfall will come across the area. Further rainfall is also forecast for the weekend."

The flood warning could affect farms at Sturminster Marshall, Cowgrove, shops in Wimborne, Mill Street in Corfe Mullen, Bridge House Hotel in Ferndown, Throop Road in Bournemouth, Barrack Road and Willow Way in Christchurch.

An amber weather warning from the Met Office will come into place across the south west region from 2pm today.

Very wet and windy weather is expected throughout tonight and into tomorrow.
