The Sherborne Hotel helped around 50 people who were left stranded in Yeovil by severe weather conditions.
Passengers were left stuck at the Yeovil junction station after a train hit a tree on the line near Sherborne.
Passengers were also delayed by other weather related line closures and service delays.
Jo Lock, general manager at Sherborne Hotel said: “We were phoned by South West Trains at about 9pm and asked if we would be able to accommodate anyone.
“We were game for it but it was very lucky that we even had the space.”
The passengers were taken to the hotel by Bakers Coaches, Yeovil.
They arrived at the hotel by 12.30am this morning.
After hotel staff served the passengers tea and biscuits 30 of the passengers boarded a coach to continue onto Honiton and Exeter.
The remaining 20 people stayed in the hotel overnight with the last three departing at approximately 12.30pm today.
Jo Lock said: “It was not a problem at all. We were just happy to help.”
