WIMBORNE Town suffered the disappointment of a last-ditch defeat in the Red Insure Cup and fought out a draw in the Southern League last week.
Twice the Magpies found themselves trailing by two goals in their cup clash at Sholing, but a double from Matt Kemble and a penalty from Matt Hubbard put them back on level terms before Sholing snatched it at the death. Wimborne were eliminated 4-3.
Wimborne's League clash against Didcot at Cuthbury survived Saturday's downpour and there was drama within minutes of the kick-off when George Webb was brought down in the penalty area. The Didcot keeper was dismissed and Hubbard scored from the spot.
Despite being down to 10-men Didcot kept on battling and equalised at the start of the second-half. Aidan Sainsbury put the Magpies back into the lead, but the visitors scored again as the game ended 2-2.
This Saturday Wimborne travel to Cirencester, kick off 3pm. Then on Tuesday (22nd January) they are back on the road with a game at Evesham, 7.45pm kick-off.
