Former North Dorset schoolgirl Amelia Maughan (far right), pictured with her Great Britain team-mates taking a “selfie” after collecting their silver medals from the 4x100m medley relay at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China.

Amelia, 18, just missed out on an individual medal, finishing fourth in the 200m freestyle as well as 10th in the 100m freestyle and 27th in the 50m.

She now has at least one medal from each of the four major junior international championships – the World Juniors, European Juniors, Youth Olympics and European Youth Olympics.

The former Port Regis School pupil lived at Hinton St Mary before her family moved to Bath so she could train at British Swimming’s National Training Centre.
