All that remains of demolished beach huts at the bottom of the Portman ravine zigzag

Despite calmer weather now, the February storms have left their mark on the promenade between Boscombe and Fisherman’s Walk. Yesterday at the bottom of the Portman Ravine zigzag, diggers were scooping demolished beach huts into a large pile of broken wood while other huts, close by, seemed unscathed. Further along towards Fisherman’s Walk, however, more of the wooden huts which were damaged beyond repair await demolition behind study barriers. The devastation to the huts on this stretch of promenade was caused, not by a landslip, but by the tidal surge and storm-force winds of last month and some areas remain thick with sand.
