People from all backgrounds have come together to organise an event with a difference at Ashmore. The summer spirit gathering on Saturday 26th July starts at midday and goes on until late when there will be a fire ceremony and an evening with international spiritualist medium Mark de Ville. Entry to the event and most activities is by donation; there will be a charge for readings and the psychic evening with a generous donation from these going to named charities.
The gathering is inspired by all things spiritual, whichever paths people follow, and features a wonderful variety of events and experiences for all the family including sound healing and meditations, forage walks, clairvoyants, stalls selling wood and fabric crafts, crystals, art, organic remedies and much more. Through the day participants will be building a prayer mandala to later offer to the fire so bring along anything you may like to add to that. A special attraction will be the beautiful labyrinth which can be used as a focal point for walking meditations and ceremonies.
Jane Struver, one of the organisers says, “We really want this day to be accessible to all and hope people will give whatever they can afford. Many local spiritual workers have donated their time to bring this day into fruition and we want to encourage all sections of the community to come along, have some fun, maybe some quiet time and hopefully find out more about a whole variety of interesting ways to connect with earth, with spirit and with each other. There will be something for everybody!”
Beneficiaries will be Noah’s House and Somerset and Dorset Animal Rescue. Lots more information and directions can be found at www.spiritgathering.org
