A driver failed to stop after colliding with a teenage cyclist in Poole

Dorset Police are appealing for witnesses after a driver failed to stop after colliding with a teenage cyclist in Poole.

A 14-year-old boy from Poole was riding his bike at the junction of Ringwood Road and Alderney Avenue, when he made contact with a white Seat Leon car.

The incident which took place at around 7.45am on Tuesday December 4, caused the boy to fall off his bike into the road.

He suffered soft tissue damage to his right ankle.

Police Constable Steve Knight of Poole Police said: "The vehicle was being driven by a woman who appeared to have a small child in the rear of her car.

"It is possible that she may not have realised she clipped the fromt wheel of the cyclist. but this has caused a nasty injury to the young boy involved.

"I am keen to hear from anyone who may have seen the collision, or may have details regarding the driver or the car she was in.

"I would also urge the driver to do the right thing and speak with the police."

Witnesses or anyone with information should contact Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 04:257.
