Wimborne musician Luke Selby is waiting with fingers crossed after learning that his most recently composed pop song ‘Laugh all you want’ has reached the semi finals of the UK Songwriting Contest 2014.

The ex Queen Elizabeth School pupil has always put his music first. “Although the drum kit is my first instrument and my passion, I have always enjoyed playing piano and composing my own songs,” says the talented 20 year old.

Luke, a drum teacher for the Academy of Contemporary Music Regional in Bournemouth, is currently playing around the country with UK Acoustic Guitarist of the Year 2011 and Worldwide 30 under 30 Best Acoustic Guitarists 2014, Will McNicol. They recently performed on the opening night of Wimborne’s first and very successful guitar festival held at the Allendale Centre.

‘Laugh all you want’ is currently available on itunes and Amazon. You can follow Luke on Facebook, twitter and www.lukeselbydrums.co.uk.
