Verwood Town 0, Whitchurch United 1
VERWOOD Town were punished for poor finishing as Whitchurch United left Potterne Park with three points.
Nic Turpin's goal on 16 minutes was enough to extend their unbeaten league record to ten games.
After a slow start, Whitchurch found the breakthrough when Turpin fired home from close range after Curtis Angel's initial shot had been well saved.
Verwood pushed for an equaliser and their best effort of the first half came on 43 minutes when Sam Joy's volley clipped the crossbar.
Whitchurch put in a stern defensive performance after half time to frustrate the hosts – despite the best efforts of Charlie Gajic to find a leveller.
The visitors held on to claim three points with Verwood failing to win in the Wessex League for the third straight game.
