A vintage rally is being held in Shaftesbury to coincide with the town’s Gold Hill Fair celebrations in July.

Fair organisers the Rotary Club of Shaftesbury decided this year to make it a one-day event on Sunday 6th July, instead of the usual two-day event.

Classic car enthusiast Adrian Thompson, who owns a Triumph Gloria, came up with the idea of organising a vintage rally on Saturday 5th July to fill the gap.

“I hope to attract exhibits from all over,” said Adrian.

“Offers have been made from the Harley Davidson fraternity and I aim to have at least one traction engine.

“I am hoping to get sponsorship from a Jaguar dealership and for them to attend with the new F Type Coupe.”

Adrian wants exhibitors to join him with their classic cars, commercials, motorcycles, trikes and steam engines.
