THE Sandpiper pub in Mudeford is calling for dogs and their owners to take part in sponsored a dog walk this Friday and Saturday, (22 and 23 February) in aid of Go Walkies for Guide Dogs.

Registration starts at 9am on both days and customers have the choice of two walks: a one mile walk along the Avon beach which will take around 20 minutes to complete or an approximate two and a half mile walk along Friars Cliff and the Highcliff beaches, which will take about an hour to complete.

In 2012, staff and customers raised £2000 for Guide Dogs and they hope to beat that amount this year.

Go Walkies for Guide Dogs launched in 2010 and is the only event of its kind where it's the dog that gets sponsored to take part.

Bertie Marsh, manager of the Sandpiper, said: "We are hoping to collect as much money as we can for this great cause, because we believe the independence the charity gives to thousands of blind and partially-sighted people with the help of a guide dog, is amazing."

Those interested in taking part in the walk or making a donation, should contact Bertie directly on 01425 275163.
