Wimborne BID lauches WIN initiative

OVER 70 Wimborne BID levy payers attended the launch of WIN (Wimborne Information Network) at the Priest's House Museum recently and gave the thumbs up to the new Wimborne BID initiative. It is hoped it will become a valuable forum for businesses to meet and to share information, expertise and ideas.

Speaking at the launch, Philip Maunder, chairman of the BID's Business Development Committee and new chairman of the Board of the BID explained: "We are going to hold monthly meetings where speakers will talk specifically on set subjects such as legal aspects, limited companies, partnerships, social networking, leases, finances, book-keeping, shop display and branding etc. In short – an idiot's guide to everything. Meetings will be held in a number of venues throughout the town where attendees will be fed and watered."

Enthusiastic about the new venture, marketing manager for the BID Jenny Brown added: "It has been an extremely successful launch of this BID initiative and I hope it will prove to be a positive step forward for the business community of Wimborne."

Wimborne's Mayor, Councillor John Burden said: "Networking should work very well with traders and businesses in the town. For Wimborne this will be the icing on the cake."

The first meeting for WIN is scheduled for Wednesday 27th February and thereafter the fourth Wednesday in each month. Exact details to follow.
