Once again, against all odds and with over 260 entries, exhibitors managed to produce a splendid display of daffodils, tulips, spring flowers, pot plants and floral art at Wimborne Horticultural Society’s spring show.

Handicrafts were particularly well supported together with cookery and photography. The coveted 1913 Cup, awarded to the winner of the Daffodil Championship Class 39, was won by John Gillingham, who also gained the Daffodil Society’s Certificate for best bloom in Show, and also achieved the Committee Cup.

Sheila Lewis was awarded a rosette for the best exhibit overall in the Handicrafts Section, with her beautiful handmade greetings card.

The raffle for the magnificent gardener’s cake was won by Diana Woodhouse.
